xi Acknowledgments I have many people to thank for their support of my work. I thank my insti- tution, the University of Illinois at Springfield, and specifically the Depart- ment of Teacher Education for their encouragement. I thank my students, past and present, for challenging me to do a better job every single day. A very special thank you goes to my former research assistants, to whom I refer to as my “forever students,” Brianna Boehlke and Courtney Cepec.
